Addressing the Dropout Problem

This week, a group of leaders gathered in Lansing to tackle one of the most challenging economic issues facing Michigan - finding ways to help all of our young people finish high school prepared for success in college and the workplace.
Too many Michigan students are dropping out of high school - nearly 1 out of every 6 students in the Class of 2007 dropped out along the way.
That's unacceptable.
For those kids, we have a moral obligation to solve this problem. And for our state, it is an economic imperative.
