Dear Friends:

Thanks to the commitment of Governor Granholm, we now have a new Office for Community and Faith-based Initiatives which was created to help build a stronger link between faith leaders and state government. Both government and faith-based organizations play a critical role in protecting the most vulnerable in our society, and this new office will provide a direct link to our state's front-line providers.

The Office will specifically advise the Governor on policies, priorities and objectives for state government activities to address social needs in Michigan. We will work closely with community and faith-based organizations to promote service activities and assist organizations in identifying and applying for federal grants. And we will identify, promote and share innovative and model community and faith-based programs, initiatives and best practices with our peers statewide.
