Overview  ǀ  Before, During and After  ǀ  Family & Community  ǀ  Kids  ǀ Business  ǀ  Resources
Be Prepared. Be Safe.

As citizens, we each play a special part in preparing our families, communities, and businesses before an emergency. With the support of emergency personnel, it is our responsibility to know how to respond and protect ourselves during emergency situations.

Through the Be Prepared, Be Safe campaign, the Michigan State Police, Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division (MSP/EMHSD) is working hard to educate Michigan residents on how to prepare and remain safe before, during, and after an emergency strikes.

The Be Prepared, Be Safe campaign is designed to encourage citizens like you to take simple steps to better prepare before emergencies.

This website offers simple, step-by-step guidance on how to prepare your family, communitykids, and business for all types of emergencies. Some of the helpful resources include how to develop a family emergency plan and supply kit, ways to help prepare your neighbors, and available training to learn how to help respond during an emergency.

We encourage you to read more about what you can do to prepare. By following some basic steps, you can help your loved ones Be Prepared, Be Safe. Remember- by preparing today, you can create a safer tomorrow.
