State Police Collect Nearly 700 Pounds of Prescription Drugs on National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

LANSINGThe Michigan State Police (MSP) today announced that 693.7 pounds of prescription drugs were collected at MSP posts across the state on the semi-annual National Prescription Drug Take Back Day held Saturday, April 28.

The MSP partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and other local law enforcement agencies for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day to provide a venue for citizens to dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs.

All 29 MSP posts participated in the one-day "Take Back" effort by serving as drop-off points for citizens to discard expired, unused and unwanted medications for destruction.
