The Basic Detective School is a 40-hour program designed for the new detective/investigator and includes classroom lectures and workshops.  This course will be at the Michigan State Police Training Academy.  Topics include:

• Witness Interviewing
• Arson Investigation
• Forensic Pathology
• Auto Theft Investigations
• Forensic Artists
• Lab Updates and Review
• Child Abuse Investigation
• Technical Services
• Intelligence Gathering and Information Process
• Extremist Groups
• Computer Crimes
• Fraud and ID Theft
• Confidential Informants

Cost for this training is:

$300, which includes tuition, lunches and breaks
$430, which includes tuition, lodging and meals
(lodging is based on double occupancy, additional charge for Sunday night lodging)
