The Michigan State Police, Emergency Management and Homeland Security Division (MSP/EMHSD) in partnership with the Michigan Citizen Corps Program and the City of Dearborn Fire Department, hosted the second annual Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Games on May 16, 2009.
The Games provided volunteer CERT teams throughout Michigan with the opportunity to compete in a mock all-hazards emergency scenario to test their response skills in the following areas: evaluating a situation, fire suppression, search, rescue and medical treatment.
Six teams competed in the CERT Games held at the MSP Training Academy in Lansing. Participating teams included: Ann Arbor #1, Ann Arbor #2, Dearborn, Kalamazoo County, Kent County, and Lansing.
The overall winner of the 2009 CERT Games was the team from Dearborn, followed by the two teams from Ann Arbor taking second and third place.
