This is a conference designed for the front line volunteer. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the following: Fundraising, cribbing review, evidence recognition, basic disaster life safety, liability, outdoor search and rescue, traffic control, wilderness survival, accountability, disaster planning, weather spotting, advanced disaster life safety, education methodology, fire extinguisher review, witness recognition, mental health issues and response, ethics, utility recognition, communications, ventilator LVT 1200 set up/use, volunteer management, haz mat recognition, drug identification, MI Volunteer Registry, ICS/NIMS update, and mapping/gps issue.
Region 6 and the state of Michigan have allocated funding to pay for 10 volunteers from each region to attend this conference (minus the $25.00 committal fee). This includes meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday May 3, and breakfast on Sunday May 4), classroom materials, training materials, and lodging at the Ramada Inn in Grayling (double occupancy).
A $25 committal fee is required from each attendee at the time of registration and is non-refundable.
