FANG Officers Seize Hundreds Of Pounds of Marijuana

Genesee County, MI. The Flint Area Narcotics Group (FANG) is reporting that over 1,047 pounds of marijuana was seized as part of a joint interdiction investigation with the DEA that was conducted in Genesee County late Thursday evening and early Friday morning.

As a result of this cooperative effort, 1,047 pounds of processed marijuana with a street value of $1,047,000 was seized from a trailer and residence in Genesee Township. In addition, an undisclosed sum of currency and assets were also seized.

Five suspects were arrested for Delivery and Conspiracy to Deliver Marijuana. They included three males from New Mexico and a male and female from Genesee Township.

D/F/Lt. Mitch Krugielki, Section Commander at FANG, stated, "This is the second largest FANG seizure of marijuana, second only to a seizure of 1,400 pounds in 1996."

FANG and DEA were assisted by the Michigan State Police. The case is being pursued federally by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the United States Attorneys Office.
