Lansing - A member of the Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit will discuss Internet safety as the special guest during Saturday's "Computer Talk" on WHTC-AM 1450 from 8 to 9 a.m.
During the show, the MSP officer will provide listeners with tips and information on how to safely use the Internet at home. The topics covered will include:
▪ Potential dangers on the Internet
▪ Dangers of giving out personal information on the Internet
▪ How to teach children proper Internet safety
▪ Laws regarding minors on the Internet
▪ How to report suspicious behavior or activity on the Internet
▪ State resources and programs available to help teach children safe Internet use
"Internet safety is an important issue for everyone so I hope people will take advantage of this educational opportunity," said Detective Lieutenant Jim Wolf of the MSP Computer Crimes Unit.
The show is a question-answer format and is open for listeners to call-in with questions.
Listeners are encouraged to call (616) 395-1450 between 8 and 9 a.m. on Saturday.
"Computer Talk" is a one-hour computer help talk show for the Holland community every Saturday morning from 8 to 9 a.m. on WHTC-AM 1450.
