Firearms Restriction - Michigan MCL 28.422

Prohibited from possessing, using, transporting, etc. under MCL 750.224f

  • In Michigan, a person convicted of a felony is prohibited from possessing, using, transporting, selling, purchasing, carrying, shipping, or distributing a firearm unless that person has received a restoration of firearm rights. Due to the changes to the concealed pistol law on July 1, 2001, which prohibits felons from obtaining a concealed pistol permit, the restoration of rights had to have occurred prior to this date.
