On April 28, 2008, the following announcement from MSHDA's Executive Office regarding the 2008 QAP was issued: |

Interim Executive Director Keith Molin announced a tentative schedule to award approximately $16 million in Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) by the end of September or early October. The federal LIHTC program allocates incentives to developers to propose low-income housing projects in accordance with guidelines published in a Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP) originated at the state level.

It is planned that the document will be approved and signed by the Governor by the week of June 2.
An outside consulting firm was engaged by the Authority first to review the document and now to work with staff in pursuit of getting a QAP that allows the Authority to get that one round of federal Tax Credit funding left for this year completed. |

Information regarding the January 18, 2008 LIHTC Funding Round, including the official announcement, the amount of available credit,a list of applicants, and iinformation about the drawing of eligible applications held February 5, 2008, has been added to the 2008 Funding Round Information page. |

On January 3, 2008, MSHDA's response to the 12/21/2007 Governor's Letter to MSHDA Board was released:
A special meeting of MSHDA will be held on Friday, January 4, 2008 to consider the Governor's request. This meeting will be held in MSHDA's Detroit Office and will also be simulcast via video link in MSHDA's Lansing Office. The public may attend the meeting in either location. The special meeting will start at 3 p.m.
Submission of applications under the 2008/09 QAP for the Winter funding round was conditioned on approval of the QAP. Since approval has not yet been obtained, the Winter funding round calling for application submission by January 7, 2008 is suspended and will be rescheduled following the MSHDA board's special meeting.
