Qualified Allocation Plan Update From MSHDA's Executive Office:

Interim Executive Director Keith Molin announced a tentative schedule to award approximately $16 million in Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) by the end of September or early October. The federal LIHTC program allocates incentives to developers to propose low-income housing projects in accordance with guidelines published in a Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP) originated at the state level.

It is planned that the document will be approved and signed by the Governor by the week of June 2. An outside consulting firm was engaged by the Authority first to review the document and now to work with staff in pursuit of getting a QAP that allows the Authority to get that one round of federal Tax Credit funding left for this year completed.
