May 16, 2012 - The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC), along with the Michigan Energy Office, will sponsor an energy efficiency forum on May 24 in Lansing that will focus on pursuing deep energy savings for commercial and industrial utility customers.

"Commercial and industrial utility customers stand to gain by undertaking energy efficiency measures designed for them," said Commissioner Greg White, who will kick off the event.  "The savings realized by becoming more energy efficient are substantial and help make Michigan businesses more competitive. This forum aims to give large utility customers the tools they need to implement programs that will result in deep energy savings."

Also featured at the forum will be Valerie Brader, senior policy advisor to Governor Rick Snyder; Robert Jackson of the Michigan Energy Office; Arvind Atrea, of the University of Michigan Industrial Assessment Center; utility representatives; and others.

The forum will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on May 24 at the Michigan Library and Historical Center, located at 702 W. Kalamazoo St.  To RSVP, contact Trista Gregorski at gregorskit@michigan.gov.
