April 6, 2012 - The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today granted licenses to Lakeshore Energy Services, L.L.C. and Michigan Gas & Electric as alternative electric suppliers (AESs).

Lakeshore Energy Services, L.L.C., in Case No. U-16905, applied for a license as an AES on Nov. 18, 2011.  A Michigan subsidiary of Seminole Energy Services, L.L.C., which is located in Tulsa, Okla., it has established an office in Clinton Township, Mich.

Michigan Gas & Electric in Case No. U-16912 applied for a license as an AES on Dec. 21, 2011.  Headquartered in North Miami Beach, Fla., it has established an office in Harbor Springs, Mich.

The MPSC approved the licenses based on a determination that the companies possess the appropriate managerial and technical capabilities to serve customers in Michigan and comply with other lawful obligations.

The MPSC has opened separate dockets (Case Nos. U-16979 and U-17010, respectively) for the companies to submit renewable energy plans, as required by Public Act 295 of 2008.

The MSPC is an agency within the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.

Case Nos. U-16905 and U-16912
