MPSC Designates Michigan 2-1-1 as Statewide Coordinating Agency for 2012-2015

March 8, 2012 - The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today designated Michigan 2-1-1 as the statewide coordinating agency from April 1 through March 31, 2015, under certain conditions.

The abbreviated dialing number 2-1-1 has been assigned by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to enable callers to reach community resource and referral answering points.

 

Today's order directs Michigan 2-1-1 by Jan. 15 each year to file in this docket a letter explaining the outcome of its most recently completed internal financial audit. In addition, the organization was directed to file by Feb. 1, 2015 updated information on funding, advances made in 2-1-1 availability in Michigan and any other relevant information on its progress.

 

The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.
