Payment Calculations

All revenues collected from telecommunication providers are distributed to eligible municipalities.

For the first $30 million collected:  75% of available funds are distributed to eligible cities and villages that opted in based on the Michigan Department of Transportation fund distribution formula as found in Section 13 of PA 51 of 1951.  25% of the funds are disbursed to eligible townships that opted in on the basis of each township's proportionate share of the total linear feet of public rights-of-way in or on which providers' facilities are located within all townships located in metropolitan areas.  (Sec. 11)

For revenue which exceeds $30 million:  These funds will be multiplied by the percentage of weighted linear feet attributable to eligible cities and villages as compared to the total weighted linear feet attributable to eligible cities, villages and townships to arrive at the percentages available to cities and villages and to townships.  That portion that is earmarked for cities and villages will be distributed based on PA 51.  The funds available for townships will be disbursed on the basis of each township's proportionate share of the total linear feet of public rights-of-way in or on which providers' facilities are located within all township located in metropolitan areas.  (Sec. 12)
