The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today authorized Midwest Electric Cooperative to increase its 2008 power supply cost recovery (PSCR) factor.

The utility on June 20 filed a motion to reopen its 2008 PSCR plan case and requested that the MPSC approve additional power supply costs because of an increase in wholesale power supply costs by its power supplier - Wabash Valley Power Association, Inc.

The settlement agreement approved today authorizes the utility to increase its PSCR factor to $0.01951 per kilowatt hour for the remainder of 2008.

The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Labor & Economic Growth.
