The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today issued an order granting a license to Spartan Renewable Energy, Inc. as an alternative electric supplier (AES).
The MPSC approved the license based on a determination that the company possesses sufficient technical competence to engage in energy transactions, is capable of meeting safety requirements for electric operations, and complies with other lawful obligations.
The company must comply with all applicable provisions of the Customer Choice and Electricity Reliability Act and the MPSC's orders, and provide service to customers within a reasonable time. Failure to comply may result in revocation of the license or other penalties.
Spartan Renewable Energy, Inc. is a member of Wolverine Power Supply Cooperative, Inc. and has an office in Cadillac, Mich.
The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Labor & Economic Growth.
