The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today approved a settlement agreement in Great Lakes Energy Cooperative’s rate case.
The utility on March 17 filed an application with the MPSC seeking to increase its electric rates by $6,019,460.
Today's order approves a settlement agreement that increases electric rates by $4 million, plus $1,115,000 earmarked for right-of-way maintenance expenditures that is subject to refund if not completed. The average residential customer will see an increase of 4.2 percent.
The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Labor & Economic Growth.
