MPSC Grants Federal Oil Company, LLC Authority to Construct and Operate Pipeline

The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today granted Federal Oil Company, LLC authority to construct and operate the Budde 27 Pipeline.

 

The proposed 1.59 miles of 3-inch steel pipeline, will commence at the Savoy’s State‑Ferry Budde 1-27A well and extend to an interconnection with existing Rood 1-23 production facility, located in Ferry Township in Oceana County.

 

The pipeline will be used to efficiently transport natural gas to market by way of the Basin pipeline and the existing gas transmission system.

 

Federal Oil Company, headquartered in Mt. Pleasant, Mich., requested approval to construct and operate the Budde 27 Pipeline on Oct. 21. 

 

The pipeline will meet the requirements of the Michigan Gas Safety standards if constructed, tested and operated as proposed.

 

The Commission concluded that the pipeline will serve the public convenience and necessity.

 

The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Labor & Economic Growth.
