The Commission approved a new green pricing program for Detroit Edison customers on April 3, 2007. Detroit Edison calls the new program GreenCurrents. At the end of 2007, the program reached 6,822 participants.
Residential program options:

This option enables you to match 100 percent of your monthly electric consumption for 2 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh). The monthly cost is based on the amount of kilowatt-hours used each month, and is in addition to your normal monthly electric charges.

100 Kilowatt-Hour Block Enrollment
This option enables you to choose a participation level that is right for you and your budget. One single block represents 100 kilowatt-hours of renewable energy for $2.50 per month. You can purchase up to 10 individual blocks. This monthly cost is in addition to your normal monthly electric charges

Business Program Options:
- This option enables you to match 100 percent of your company's monthly electric consumption for 2 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh). The monthly cost is based on the amount of kilowatt-hours used each month and is in addition to your normal monthly electric charges.

1000 Kilowatt-Hour Block Enrollment
Purchase renewable energy in single block increments, which represent 1,000 kilowatt-hours of renewable energy per block. The cost per block is $20.00 per month. There is no limit on the amount of individual blocks purchased. The monthly cost is in addition to your business' normal monthly electric charges.
