The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today issued an order that continues the current state 9-1-1 charge and distribution percentages, after receiving public comments on this matter.
In today's order, the MPSC said the state's 9-1-1 charge should remain unchanged at this time, noting that there is insufficient data remitted to date.
In December, Governor Granholm signed Public Act 379 of 2008, which, among other things, amends the funding provisions for 9-1-1 service.
The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Energy, Labor & Economic Growth.
