MPSC Approves Settlement Agreement Authorizing SEMCO Energy Gas Company to Reconcile its 2006-2007 Gas Cost Recovery Revenues and Expenses

The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today approved a settlement agreement reconciling SEMCO Energy Gas Company's 2006-2007 gas cost recovery (GCR) revenues and expenses.

The settlement found that the utility under-recovered $29,409 from its natural gas customers. Under the agreement, that amount will be rolled into the company's current 2007-2008 GCR plan.

Today's order also directed the utility to convene a collaborative to discuss its future natural gas purchasing strategies.

The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Labor & Economic Growth
