I will be transferring to a different college. How can I be sure all of my Michigan scholarships and grants will transfer to my new institution?

Some Michigan scholarship and grant programs are "portable" (can transfer to another college in certain cases) and some are not. In addition, some programs are by law required to be used at specific types of institutions. For example, if you were eligible for the Michigan Tuition Grant and transferred from a Michigan private college to a Michigan public college, you could no longer receive the grant. This is because the Tuition Grant is specifically for students attending Michigan private colleges. Remember, it is the student's responsibility to notify the Office of Scholarships and Grants whenever they change colleges. Contact us at 1-888-447-2687 or by e-mail at osg@michigan.gov to inform us of any change in your college attendance.
