7th and 8th Grade Monies

Public Act 94 of 1999 provides for up to $500 in additional funds to some recipients of the Michigan Merit Award. In order to qualify for these additional funds, the student:

  1. Must earn a Michigan Merit Award in the high school graduating Class of 2005 and Class of 2006, and 
  2. Must have taken all four MEAP tests (reading, writing, mathematics, and science) while in the 7th and 8th grades, and 
  3. Must have achieved qualifying scores on two, three or four of their 7th and 8th grade MEAP tests (reading, writing, mathematics, and science).

Additional funds available:

If the student achieved qualifying results in Additional funds Bringing their entire Michigan Merit Award to
TWO of the four 7th and 8th grade MEAP tests $250 $2,750
THREE of the four 7th and 8th grade MEAP tests $375 $2,875
FOUR of the four 7th and 8th grade MEAP tests $500 $3,000
