The Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion presents the 2009 Opportunity For All: Inequity, Linked Fate, and Social Justice in Michigan Conference. This conference will go beyond reflection and engage a community based network in establishing an action plan to promote equity for all, build relationships for social justice and create sustainable communities.

Dr. john a. powell, executive director of the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity at The Ohio State University, examines the historic discrepancies in opportunities offered to whites and people of color in Detroit, and offers insight into how the region can recognize and reconcile that past. The conference will also provide workshops to explore the imperative for diversity in Michigan's tranformation to a knowledge economy.
