"In 1945 America and the rest of the Allied Powers claimed victory in World War II. Soldiers came home; the American economy found renewed strength; and people started to have babies. Lots of babies--for almost 20 years." --David Neilsen
If you were born between 1946 and 1964, you have the distinction of being a Baby Boomer. "Baby Boom" is an iconic term referring to an unusual spike in birth rates following WW II. It is a generation that has become significant, in large part, because of size--an unprecedented 76 million people were born in the United States over the 18-year time period.
It has been said that Baby Boomers have had a way of transforming every aspect of society, from politics, to fashion, to health care systems and the like. There is little doubt that Boomers will also transform how people age in our country. This is a group with a generational distinctiveness like none other.
These links will take you to information on what makes this generation so unique, and how society is changing as a result of their wants, needs, and characteristics.
