Trees in the Environment
Trees need three basic things to be healthy...Sunlight, Water and Nutrients. Location is very important also. If a tree is growing where there is good soil, space, just the right amount of sunlight, water and nutrients, then it will grow to be big and strong. You can tell a tree is healthy if it has a tree full of green leaves, does not have any defects such as lightning strikes, broken branches, lichen and mushrooms growing on the tree, or large holes. If you plant a tree, it is very important to take care of the tree until it has time to get used to it's new home. Watering the tree through the summer months, and weeding around the tree gives it a good start at adapting to it's new home and enabling it to grow and become strong.
