| Civil War Battle Flags |

|
| Civil War soldiers followed the flag of their regiment into battle. Some flags were lost in the fighting. Other flags were shredded by bullets or stained with blood. These flags are now cared for by the Michigan Historical Museum, the Michigan Capitol Committee and the Save the Flags program. |
