Detroit Casinos Revenues Up for February by 4.11%
Detroit Casino Revenues & Wagering Taxes for February
The Michigan Gaming Control Board reports today that the aggregate revenue and taxes for all three Detroit casinos for the month of February were up by 4.11% in comparison to the same month last year and were up by 9.4% compared to the last month (January), even though this year February had only 28 days of operations.
Revenue for MGM Grand, MotorCity and Greektown casinos were up by 5.17%, 4.37%, and 1.88% respectively, in comparison to the same month last year.
For February 2009, gaming taxes for the three Detroit casinos were
$10.57 million in comparison to
$11.71 million for the same period last year. The decrease in the State of Michigan's gaming tax revenue is due to the tax roll back approved for MGM Grand and the MotorCity casinos. See attached spreadsheet.
