Tips and Tools for Mentoring Program Policy and Procedures Webinar Does your program have an updated policy and procedure manual? If not, then this webinar is for you! A clear and comprehensive policy and procedure manual helps guide all components of a mentoring program. Prior to this session, participants will be provided with a link to download the Generic Mentoring Program Policy and Procedure Manual template. This helpful document from the National Mentoring Center provides a guide for policy development. The webinar will walk participants through the template and answer questions related to specific policy questions. This session is ideal for newer programs and new staff or AmeriCorps members who are responsible for documenting program policy and procedures:
Beyond Certificates and Plaques: Mentor Recognition Webinar Different people appreciate different forms of recognition. Some volunteers love an event while others respond to a personalized note. Does your recognition plan cover the needs of all your mentors? Thanking volunteers and recognizing their hard work impacts retention and it can generate awareness about your program. During this webinar, we will share a variety of recognition strategies that have worked for other mentoring programs. While recognition should be ongoing for programs, National Mentoring Month (January 2010) and National Volunteer Week (April 18 - 24, 2010) provide unique opportunities to say thank you. Participants will be invited to share their favorite strategies prior to the webinar:

Real Colors Workshop This workshop takes participants through a fun and interactive process to identify their own temperament, or "color." Participants learn about the strengths of each color, how to communicate with different colors, and to appreciate and value the viewpoints of other colors. This session is most helpful when participants attend with one or more people they work or collaborate with. Supervisors and staff, community collaborative members, committees, or work teams can benefit from attending and learning how to better work together. Participants will also explore volunteer recruitment and how to create recruitment campaigns that attract potential volunteers from each color group. Understanding temperament differences can also be helpful when supervising and monitoring volunteers.
This session is $45 per person and there is no discount for national service members or groups due to increased material costs. Lunch, snacks, and resources will be provided. Limited to first 30 registrants.
