A premier resource for youth mentoring programs, the National Mentoring Database (NMD) is the most comprehensive of its kind in the nation.  Visitors to www.mentoring.org can access the more than 4,000 youth mentoring programs and volunteer centers listed in the NMD.  Thousands of prospective volunteers visit www.mentoring.org each month, and using a ZIP code search, may find mentoring opportunities within their community.  Corresponding mentoring programs are then displayed, allowing volunteers to choose programs of interest and make on-the-spot inquiry.  The volunteer contact information is immediately sent to the selected program via e-mail.  From Mentor Michigan's NMD portal, programs can quickly and efficiently edit their program information, add a new program, and manage their volunteer referrals received via www.mentoring.org .
