M-20/US-10 BR Midland Roundabout Construction, Midland County

Start: Now Open!

What Is Being Done?

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is constructing a modern roundabout in Midland just east of Washington Street along M-20/US-10 Business Route (BR) at the Patrick Road crossover. MDOT is investing $1.1 million in safety improvements at this intersection to increase motorist safety.

How Will Traffic Be Affected?

During construction:
  • Westbound US-10 BR traffic will be maintained.
  • Traffic along the crossover will be detoured via Washington Street, Haley Street and Saginaw Street.
During final paving:
  • Westbound US-10 BR will have a short-term detour in place, with traffic rerouted via the Bay City Road interchange, Saginaw Road, Discovery Way, and Washington Street.
  • Eastbound US-10 BR will be reduced to one lane for a short period of time as well.
When complete, warning signs and other traffic devices will alert westbound US-10 BR motorists to lower their speed from 70 mph to 45 mph as they approach the roundabout. The speed limit within the roundabout will be 25 mph.
