M-24 bridge replacement over Plum Creek begins next week

ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATE: November 2012

PROJECT: A $3 million bridge replacement project at two locations:

Work begins Monday, June 4, on the M-24 bridge over Plum Creek.

M-24 bridge work over an abandoned railroad just north of Lapeer, which began in late April, is expected to wrap up by September.

All remaining work over the abandoned railroad is anticipated to be completed by spring 2013.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: M-24 over Plum Creek

One lane of alternating traffic will be maintained under temporary signals.

Two-way traffic will be maintained during daytime, with traffic shifted to the shoulder area.

One lane of alternating traffic may be maintained under flag control during nighttime hours.

CUSTOMER BENEFIT: This work will increase safety by improving the overall condition of the bridges.
