MDOT to host open house March 2 to share proposed M-37 improvements

BACKGROUND: MDOT is planning to reconstruct M-37 from 4 Road north to the Grand Traverse County line in Wexford and Hanover townships in Wexford County. This project, part of the MDOT 2011-2015 Five-Year Program, is currently scheduled for 2011.

The proposed work includes crushing and replacement of existing pavement, new curb and gutter, reconstruction of the large curve west of Buckley, and storm sewer. The project also includes decorative lighting, decorative sidewalk and landscaping from West Street to Carl Street in the village of Buckley.

A short presentation on the current design, traffic control plans, and a proposed project schedule will be given. Following the presentation, there will be an opportunity to talk one-on-one with MDOT officials.
