BACKGROUND: The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will oversee improvements to the M-52 corridor in the Village of Manchester, including road reconstruction and widening between Austin Road and Dutch Drive. Other improvements include new water main, storm sewer, curb and gutter, and sidewalks, along with bridge work on the structure over the Raisin River, and the realignment of the north leg of the
M-52/Main Street intersection. These improvements will require the removal of numerous trees throughout the corridor. In addition, the realignment at the M-52/Main Street intersection would require the purchase of the Borek-Jennings Funeral Home.
Work is tentatively scheduled to begin in the spring of 2009, and be completed by December 2009.
To learn more about this project, plan to attend the information open house on Feb. 20.
