October 6, 2005 - - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) expects to open all lanes to traffic on the I-69 Business Loop (BL), also known as Saginaw Street, from Hagadorn Road in East Lansing to Old M-78 on Friday, Oct. 7, weather permitting. The project, which started in April, was completed one week ahead of schedule.
Work included joint repairs, milling, laying new asphalt, and constructing indirect left- turn lanes at Park Lake Road and Lake Lansing Road.
The contractor is Kamminga and Roodvoets, Grand Rapids.
The completion of this $5.8 million project will promote safety and improve the traffic flow along I-69 BL. It continues a commitment by MDOT and the Granholm administration to create jobs, improve quality of life, and provide the highest quality transportation services for Michigan residents and businesses.
