Weekend closures in Detroit include
sections of I-96 and M-10 (Lodge Freeway)

March 17, 2005 -- The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) today announced that two freeway closures are scheduled in Detroit this weekend, beginning Friday, March 18.
Northbound and southbound M-10 (Lodge Freeway) will be closed under Cobo Center for bridge work and tunnel lighting upgrades. The closure is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m. on Friday and end at 5 a.m. on Sunday.
The posted detour for northbound drivers follows eastbound Jefferson Avenue to northbound I-375, to southbound I-75, to northbound M-10.
Southbound drivers are directed north on I-75, to southbound I-375, to westbound Jefferson Avenue. Southbound drivers who fail to use the through-traffic detour will be directed off the freeway at Larned Street.
I-96 express lanes will be closed between M-39 (Southfield Freeway) and Grand River Avenue (exit 185) for bridge demolition. This closure is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. on Friday and end at 5 a.m. on Monday.
The posted detour for westbound I-96 is westbound Grand River Avenue to southbound Schaefer Highway, to westbound Plymouth Road, to northbound Evergreen Road, to westbound I-96.
Eastbound drivers will be detoured onto the I-96 local lanes at US-24 (Telegraph Road), to the Evergreen Road exit. The detour continues on southbound Evergreen Road, to eastbound Plymouth Road, to northbound Schaefer Highway, to the eastbound I-96 Service Drive, to eastbound I-96.
