M-11 intersection reconstruction starts Thursday at Byron Center Avenue

ESTIMATED END DATE: Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012

PROJECT DETAILS: This project will include full reconstruction at M-11 and Bryon Center Avenue, and at M-11 and Ivanrest Avenue. Work includes geometric upgrades, installation of sidewalks and ramps compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, new curb and gutter, permanent pavement markings, new signs, traffic signal upgrades, drainage improvements, water main work at Ivanrest Avenue, and removal of the pedestrian bridge at Ivanrest Avenue.

TRAFFIC IMPACT: Each intersection will be constructed in three different stages. The first two stages involve closing the south half or north half of the intersection for reconstruction, while the third stage will include closing the three middle lanes of M-11. A minimum of one lane of traffic will be open in each direction at all times on M-11.
