Q 7. As a Contractor on an MDOT job, what documentation is required on materials?
 
Answer:
This can depend on the "Basis of Acceptance" of the specific material, as described in the Materials Source Guide (MSG). Please see the most recent MSG for "Basis of Acceptance" of materials. Including, but not limited to:

  • Testing Order Form (501) - List of materials to be used on project.

  • V.I.- Visual Inspection

  • Test - Material must be tested before being used on a project.

  • Tested Stock - A defined quantity has been tested and approved for use.

  • QPL - Qualified Products List

  • General Certification - Required with Approved Manufacturer materials.

  • Test Data Certification - General Certification plus test data.
