US-131 bridge fix over 6th Street starts Monday in Grand Rapids

PROJECT DETAILS: Substructure repairs, deck patching, bridge railing replacement and concrete surface coating.

TRAFFIC IMPACT: The ramp from westbound I-196 to northbound US-131 will close from April 23 to May 5. The ramp from eastbound I-196 to northbound US-131 will close from May 7 to May 16.

Occasional nighttime lane closures will occur from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on northbound US-131 from I-196 to 6th Street. A minimum of two lanes will remain open on northbound US-131 at night with three lanes remaining open during the day.

Right lane closures will be in effect on 6th Street between Front and Turner avenues with pedestrian traffic maintained at all times.
