April 11, 2012 -- Several projects across Wayne County are slated to begin Monday, April 16, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT).

In Dearborn and Dearborn Heights, a $550,000 investment to make sidewalk curbs on sections of US-12 (Michigan Avenue) and US-24 (Telegraph Road) compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act will require intermittent single-lane closures. The US-12 project, between Brady Street and Outer Drive, and the US-24 work, between Joy and Plymouth roads, will begin as early as Monday. All work is expected to be completed by July.

In Woodhaven, a $420,000 investment to repair the existing I-75 sound wall between Brunswick Drive and Deerfield Park will require shoulder closures on southbound I-75. Work hours are restricted to 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. weekdays; all work will be completed by August.

In Canton Township, the addition of a right-turn lane on westbound US-12, from the I-275 interchange to northbound Haggerty Road, will require intermittent single-lane closures during active work hours. All work on this $100,000 investment will be completed in August.
