I-696 service drive resurfacing starts Monday, April 16, in Macomb County

Fast Facts:
- The I-696 service drives will be resurfaced between Gratiot Avenue and Groesbeck Highway.
- All work is scheduled to be completed in late July.
- Lane closures are expected seven days a week.

April 11, 2012 -- On Monday, April 16, work will begin to resurface more than 2 miles of the eastbound and westbound I-696 service drives between M-3 (Gratiot Avenue) and M-97 (Groesbeck Highway) in the communities of Roseville and Eastpointe. All work on this $1 million investment is scheduled to be completed in late July.

Motorists should expect single-lane closures Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, single-lane closures will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The intersections at Gratiot Avenue, Hayes Road and Groesbeck Highway will have lane restrictions limited to 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays.
