2008 AASHTO National Bridge Building Contest Finalists

Congratulations to six students from two schools in Michigan- Eastern High School in Lansing and Portage Central High School in Portage- who are finalists in an engineering contest sponsored by AASHTO.

 Eastern High School - Jan Pohl - TRAC Program Manager, Joshua Bon, Dave McCreight - Teacher, Brandon Swartz,  and Joe Villarreal.  Missing from picture  - Mohsin Al-Mubalegh

 Portage Central High School - Brenda Kragt - Southwest Region TRAC Coordinator, Gina Cosgrove, Alex Martin, Ken Chong, and Dale Freeland - teacher.

The students will compete in the bridge-building contest finals held at the AASHTO Spring Meeting in Branson, Missouri in May, 2008.  The two teams each comprised of three students and one teacher, submitted proposals that were selected as finalists out of the more than 100 teams that registered for the contest.
