Mumtaz Usmen conducted the beginning of the meeting and officially passed the moderator role to Ron Harichandran, the chair nominee of the MTRBEC, for the remaining discussion. The executive committee focused on establishing invitations and formatting for the first MTRB meeting. Charges for the first year of the MTRB were discussed.

Therese Petko, moderator, provided the purpose and vision for the team. The team developed their operating charter, roles & responsibilities, and meeting format. Meeting dates and agenda for the first meeting were determined.

Team will focus on one specific action item in future meetings to provide a finished, polished plan to present to the transportation community.

The team developed an organized approach to the creation of the Michigan Transportation Research Council charter. A list of primary stakeholders in the transportation community was created. Team members will review example documents and the next meeting will focus on creating the Research Council charter.
