2004 Asset Management Action Team Meeting Minutes

Tony Milo, moderator, provided the purpose and vision for the team. The team developed their operating charter, roles & responsibilities, and meeting format. Meeting dates and agenda for the first meeting were determined.

The group approved its operating charter and discussed how it will coordinate with the existing Asset Management Council, created by Michigan law.

The group identified six modes that they believed needed to be represented on the Action Team: Rail, Transit, Airports, Ports Authorities, Non-motorized and Roads. They discussed strategies for identifying and inviting representatives from the additional modes not yet represented on the Action Team.

The team continued reviewing issues, goals and actions; approved the action item implementation plan for roads and bridges as presented; discussed candidates for a new facilitator and discussed expansion of the team.

It was expressed that the team's goal is to raise level of awareness of asset management. Our group desires to take a more global view of asset management. The asset management council has focused on pavement and bridges.
