Project 2: Wayne County

Start: February 25, 2008       End: December 2009

What we are doing:
  • The Ambassador Bridge Gateway Project is a $170 million reconstruction of a 1.5-mile stretch of north- and southbound I-75 in southwest Detroit, adjacent to the Ambassador Bridge.
  • The project limits extend between Clark Street (Exit 47A) and Rosa Parks Boulevard (Exit 49) in the city of Detroit.
  • Project includes repair to 24 bridges, as well as the creation of direct freeway access from I-75/I-96 to the Ambassador Bridge. The project is essential to meeting projected increased volumes of traffic crossing the Ambassador Bridge and improving safety and mobility on area freeways.
