Livingston County Courthouse located along I-96 BL in Howell
This style of architecture popular from the 1880s to early 1900s, was always constructed of brick or stone. Different textures (for instance, rough-cut stone and brick) and different colors of masonry were combined on the same structure to give the building an interesting appearance. In addition to the construction materials, Romanesque structures are also known for round masonry arches over windows and porch entrances. Towers were also frequently included in the design. The Romanesque style of architecture was frequently used for train depots, churches, libraries, and other public buildings.
