US-23 traffic shift begins April 10; one lane open in each direction Contact: Kari Arend, MDOT Office of Communications 517-780-0406
County: Monroe Highway: US -23 from Ida Center Road to just north of M-50 Closest City: Dundee Estimated Starting Date: Thursday, April 10 Estimated Completion Date: November 2003 Project: Road reconstruction and bridge repairs between Ida Center Road and M-50 Traffic Restrictions: Beginning April 10, single lane closures will occur in each direction along US-23 as barrier wall is placed along the southbound side of the highway. Barrier wall installation will take approximately 10 days to complete. Once in place, all traffic will be shifted to the southbound lanes while the northbound side of US-23 is reconstructed. This will allow one lane of traffic to be maintained in each direction during construction. In addition, intermittent ramp closures will occur with a detour posted at several locations along the corridor. However, the M-50/US-23 interchange will remain open at all times. Let's keep Michigan families safe. Please slow down in work zones. - A message from MDOT and the Give 'em a Brake safety coalition University
