MDOT invites public comment regarding M-13 bridge replacement project in Bay County

WHAT: The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing $1.3 million during 2010 for bridge replacement work on M-13 over the Pinconning River in Bay County. The public is invited to attend a meeting regarding proposed construction.

During construction, M-13 over the Pinconning River will be closed with traffic detoured. Traffic will be rerouted to Pinconning Road (5th Street), where motorists will head east to Water Street, then take Cody Estey Road north, to resume travel on M-13. An alternate detour route, using North Street, also will be in effect.

This project is expected to begin in January and is anticipated to be completed by April 2010.

BACKGROUND: Interested residents are invited to stop by anytime during one of the two open house-style meetings to view displays and learn more about the proposed bridge replacement. The purpose of these improvements is to increase safety within the construction area. Public input is sought to help MDOT recognize and address any concerns. MDOT staff members will be available to answer questions.
